The training focused on investigative procedures and analytical frameworks in competition law enforcement. The aim of the training was to promote cooperation in the field of competition law and policy by bringing African and European policies and enforcement closer together and strengthening ties between the respective competition authorities. This involved discussion on experiences covering the different steps of competition investigations and proceedings, ranging from information gathering tools and case management, through to frameworks for economic assessment and the design of remedies. It also covered cartels, merger control, abuse of dominance, State interventions in markets and interactions with sector regulators.
